Buttonwillow 2004

Saturday morning just before tech inspection. Being from upstate New York, I was very pleased to be in southern California in November. They were out of Mustang coupes at Hertz, so I got the white convertible for the same price. The drive up from LA was great with the top down till I got up in the mountains and froze my fingers off. Felt like I was home.
Tiger Racing was on hand with their 2005 entry for the SEMA show in Las Vegas.
Carol Hollfelder, of Tiger Racing, a paraplegic who drives the race car in the picture to the left.
This car is set up for Carol and they've built other cars for people with special needs. The ring behind the steering wheel is the throttle, you push the wheel forward for braking and the shifter is controlled by two paddles on the steering wheel spokes. I got a chance to talk to Carol for a while on Sunday. I wanted her to take me out for a ride but unfortunately that didn't happen.
Some of the SVTOA national brain trust cooling it on Sunday afternoon.
The grounds were populated with many vendors including Kenny Brown, Maximum Motorsports, Griggs and Roush to mention a few.
Again, I couldn't get the race car out to California so I just came out to work the event. I took this picture as a remembrance for the scrap book. This event made number five for the year.
