Texas World Speedway 2004

We were greeted Saturday morning with torrential rains for tech inspection. This shot says it all. Unbelievable dedication and ingenuity. He did get a little wet but it didn't seem to matter.
Garages were at a premium to stay dry and have a place to work on the car as necessary. Unfortunately the roofs leaked and we needed ponchos and umbrellas under cover.
As quickly as the Texas sized rain storm came, it left. A beautiful sunrise followed and everyone forgot about the rain as soon as the track dried up. Hot laps for everyone.

We took some parade laps at noon both days and I took the rental car out for one of them. This shot is on the front straight. The banking is significant. Both the Cobra Rs I instructed in did better than 140 mph on this section of the track.
Yours truly with the rental on pit lane. I couldn't get the race car out to Texas so I just came out to work the event. I took this picture as a remembrance for the scrap book. This event made number four for the year.
